He framed personal behaviours by using three characters. The lover of wisdom, the lover of pride and the lover of gain. The play ‘Les miserables’ depicts these characters perfectly. Jean Valjean is the lover of wisdom. Javert the lover of pride and the innkeeper couple, the lovers of gain.
Now Jesus says something similar, but you will not find this saying in any Bible. Here’s the reason for the exclusion. Jesus frames Plato’s characteristics as a duality. The Kingdom of the father is Plato’s lover of wisdom and the poverty, that remains, are the lovers of gain and pride. The pursuits of the ego.
3 Jesus said, “If your leaders say to you, ‘Look, the (Father’s) kingdom is in the sky,’ then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, ‘It is in the sea,’ then the fish will precede you. Rather, the <father’s>kingdom is within you and it is outside you.
When you know yourselves, then you will be known, and you will understand that you are children of the living Father. But if you do not know yourselves, then you live in poverty, and you are the poverty.”
In the America’s the indigenous folks framed the duality this way.
“An old Cherokee told his grandson “There is a battle between two wolves inside us all. One is evil. It is anger, jealousy, greed, resentment, inferiority, lies and ego. The other is go(o)d. It is joy, love, peace, hope, humility, kindness, empathy and truth.”
The boy thought about it, and asked “Grandfather, which wolf wins?” The old man quietly replied. “The one you feed.”
So, it seems we have consensus at a personal level. Kill of the ego and you are left with an innate peace. What also happens when people do that, we start behaving more like a herd than selfish assholes. This small article may help make more sense of this point. I also provide two videos of compelling scientific studies to support the wise folks case.
Feed your Go(o)d wolf folks. We need to come together soon and do our best for the kids. There’s some shitty climate coming their way. Yep, I said kids not Grandkids.
Wakeup time, sleepy heads… The world ain’t flat and there is no SKY GOD to save the day! Period!
Peace, it’s when folks love their neighbours and tell no lies. Best to simply sing and dance or lives away than pray, I say. What say you “Real” Jesus.
His disciples asked him and said to him, “Do you want us to fast? How should we pray? Should we give to charity? What diet should we observe?”
Jesus said, “Don’t lie, and don’t do what you hate, because all things are disclosed before heaven. After all, there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed, and there is nothing covered up that will remain undisclosed.”
Gospel of Thomas – Saying 6 (Not in the Bible)
See, life’s meant to be a party, mixed with some meditation.
Jesus said, “Look to the living one as long as you live, otherwise you might die and then try to see the living one, and you will be unable to see.”
Gospel of Thomas – Saying 59
Nope, true again but also not in the Bible either folks!
We humans went through a period known as the enlightenment. This was followed by a wave of revolutions across the world. How does this relate to world peace?
Well people realized that at the societal level Empires behaved exactly like their egos and they had to be dealt with. First by awareness. Know thyself. Then by starving the evil wolf out of existence.
These empires were clearly self serving. They lied and they took the lions share of the economic resources. There is a mountain of evidence to show that Empires like a persons ego were the root of all evil. Historically , as my book shows, Empires were responsible for the invention of monotheism, forged prophecy and fake religious miracle tales.
To achieve world peace, we simply need to bring the empire to trial, examine carefully all history and evidence from corrupt folks that have served the empire and reclaim all the criminally obtained resources.
In short, we need to finish the job started in the 1700’s and exterminate the empire and use the stolen resources to liberate nations from debt, people from poverty and start the massive challenge of fighting climate change so that it is not left as a mess for our children to clean up.
